Richard LaVar Hutzler passed away peacefully around his family March 28th in the Henderson Hospital.
He was the oldest brother to his 5 brothers and 7 sisters.
He worked hard in construction all his life working for companies like Bechtel, Layton, Bud Mahas and Kim Burrows. We called him quick Rick because that man went like the Energizer bunny. He helped build the stadium in Salt Lake City. He worked on a private residence for the prophet. He also worked on the Salt Lake Airport runway project, Ely Nevada prison and many more, but his true passion was being a KC BBQ judge and smoking meat for all to enjoy. Nascar was another love in his life but his mother was first.
Survived by his mother, Rosalin Carole Sorden, siblings Madeline, Jason, Steve, Shauna, Staci, Keith, Larry, Laurel, Lena, Loni, and Layne.
Preceeded in Death by his two fathers, Richard Arland Hutzler and Lawrence Dean Sorden, his first and second wives Jaycee Heroff and Wendy Staheli, and his sister LaVonne.
He loved the outdoors - fishing, hunting, and camping in random places to adventure with family.
He would always pick wildflowers off the side of the road if he knew he was coming to visit a female in the family.
He had the kindest heart no matter how tough he tried to be and he will be missed and loved by all that knew him.
