Melvin Joseph Lee
Melvin Joseph Lee born January 22nd, 1950, in St. George, Utah to Nolan and Kathleen Lee. He was the 8th of 12 children born to his parents and raised in the Ivins and St. George area. In high school he moved with the family to Oregon City, Oregon and graduated from Oregon City High School. He enlisted in the Navy in 1969 to serve during the Vietnam war where he was awarded the National defense service medal and the Vietnam services medal. He was honorably discharged In February 1973. He returned to Oregon City and married Linda Love November 1973. They had one daughter, Teresa, born in 1976. Melvin worked as a welder in the Portland shipyards but exceled as a salesperson for a variety of companies. Mel and Linda divorced and Mel moved to Mesquite Nevada where he worked in the gaming industry for the next 20 years. He married his second wife, Patricia Ball in 1987 becoming a step-father to Tammy and April and having one daughter together in 1987, Jessica.
He is preceded in death by his parents Nolan and Kathleen, siblings Doyle, Ken, Ivan, Donna, Tom and Maureen. He is survived by siblings Nancy, Laura, Joanne Rick and Jerry. His daughters Tammy, April, Teresa and Jessica and grandchildren Chance, Kent, Keith Julia, Nolan, Kaleb and Andreya. Mel was known for his easy smile, sense of wit and love for his family.
