Georgina Poulton Putnam
Georgina “Gina” Poulton Putnam was born on September 12, 1947, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Orin John Poulton and June Welker Poulton. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her beloved family, in St. George, Utah, on March 3, 2025.
Gina was raised in Millcreek, Utah, alongside her brothers, Bob and Jim. From an early age, she loved mischief, and she often told stories of her childhood pranks.
As a child, she overcame the crippling effects of polio and endured life-long complications from the disease, which helped to mold her into the strong, resilient, and optimistic person she was.
Gina travelled the world and met many people, but her greatest adventure was in Motoqua, Utah, where she and the love of her life, Glen Robert “Putt” Putnam, built a home, raised and homeschooled their children, and created a life filled with happiness and love. There, she embraced every challenge with grit and humor—traversing muddy roads and flooding rivers, fighting fires, tending to animals, gardening, crafting, and beautifying the world around her.
She embraced many roles in her community—Primary and Relief Society teacher, youth leader, storyteller, healer, mentor, magician, entertainer, and surrogate mother to many. She made everyone she met feel important, loved, and truly seen. She had a home open to all, offering a listening ear and wise advice, a warm meal, and a safe place to stay.
Gina’s faith was the foundation of her life. She faced every joy and every trial with a prayer in her heart and trust in her Heavenly Father. Her Book of Mormon was not just a book—it was a treasured companion and guide. Her greatest counsel, even in her final days, was simple and profound: Stay close to Heavenly Father.
Family was important to Gina, and she cultivated a deep and abiding bond with her 7 children, their spouses, 38 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Her pride in her family was evident in all she did and said, and her love was a force that drew the family together.
Gina was fiercely loving, endlessly giving, and wonderfully mischievous. She lived a life of adventure, faith, and laughter, and the world is brighter because she was in it.
She is now joyfully reunited with her beloved dog Goetha, her husband Putt, her parents, and those who passed before her. While her absence leaves a deep ache in the hearts of those she left behind, her love, wisdom, and legacy will live on in the lives she touched.
We love you, Mom. Until we meet again.
