Frank Bragg Shearer (82), loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend passed away on January 22, 2025 in Dammeron Valley, Utah.
Frank was the son of Annabelle and Angus T. Shearer, born on September 17, 1942 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He graduated Central High school in 1960. Frank received a swimming and tennis scholarship and continued his education at Logan University in Utah.
Following college Frank lived with his brother Andy and went on to work for Standard Oil in Salt Lake City. In 1963 Frank met the love of his life, Ruth. He told her he was going to marry her and they did on December 16, 1963. They just celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary.
In 1965 Frank moved his family to Tulsa, Oklahoma to work alongside his Father Angus at his DX service station. Frank and Ruth grew their family and decided to pursue a new adventure in Las Vegas, Nevada. Frank worked at a full service gas station but had dreams of owning his own station. In 1978 Frank opened his first full service gas station on Flamingo and Eastern. He went on to run a very successful business until 2004 when he retired and moved to Dammeron Valley, Utah with Ruthie.
Upon retirement Frank enjoyed traveling the country on his Harley, golfing, riding his horse on Pine Valley mountain, telling his grandkids all his stories and enjoying a big bowl of ice cream with chocolate syrup.
In addition to his parents, Frank is preceded in death by his older brother Andy, sisters Jane, Molly and MaryAnne.
He is survived by his wife Ruth Shearer, son Steven of Las Vegas, daughter Melissa Betke (Mike) of California, daughter Lizz Studer( Dean) of Montana, 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and one on the way.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to Alzheimer’s charities.
A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
