Donna Rae Reed

Donna Rae Powers Reed, age 87, passed away from a long-term illness on January 25, 2024 at the Ovation Sienna Hills assisted living facility near St. George, Utah. Donna was born in New Castle, Indiana on December 18, 1936, but spent most of her childhood in Algona, Iowa. She moved to Texas to attend Texas Tech University, and lived most of her adult life in Lubbock and Granbury, Texas.

Donna had a keen eye for design, and after raising her two daughters, became a talented interior designer. She loved to sew, and her passion for fabrics was an important aspect of her design work.  She also collected sewing machines over several decades, and eventually had one of the largest collections in Texas, if not in the entire United States.  Donna was an avid sports fan, and loved her Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers.

Donna is survived by her two daughters Kelley Nail (Gary) of Panama City Beach, Florida and Melinda McCue (Mike) of St. George, Utah, along with two step daughters Dawn Imbriale (John) and Christine Henery.  Her survivors also include six grandchildren; Travis, Trey, Drew (Sarah), Preston (Ashley), Katy and Nicole (Kolton), twelve great grandchildren and many friends.
