Barbara June Lundberg, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2024, after a courageous 10-year battle with dementia, surrounded by her devoted husband and family. She was born on June 14, 1935, in Pocatello, Idaho, to the late Issac Charles Packard and Myrtle Gammell. Barbara was the 11th of 12 children.
Barbara graduated from Pocatello High School in 1953 and immediately began her career at AT&T, where she began as a switchboard operator and continued with the company for 34 years until her retirement in 1987.
On September 6, 1954, Barbara married the tall and handsome Jerry Douglas Lundberg, her sweetheart, who she met on a blind date. Together, they shared a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. They were blessed with a daughter, Kris Ann, on December 17, 1955. Barbara and Jerry were later sealed as a forever family in the St. George LDS Temple on October 23, 2015.
Barbara and Jerry enjoyed living in various places, including Idaho, Utah, Montana, and California, before retiring to Palm Springs, California and St. George, Utah. Barbara had a zest for life and pursued many interests, including dancing, golfing, bowling, designing home interiors, and marathon shopping trips.
Barbara will always be remembered best for her love and devotion to her family.
She leaves behind her devoted husband, Jerry; her daughter, Kris Ann (Sid Young); six grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and her first soon-to-be great-great-granddaughter. She also leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and resilience that will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her.
A private family gathering will be held in her honor.
Barbara will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved her. May she rest in peace.
