Alice Cathleen Mattingly Haught

Alice Cathleen Mattingly Haught age 74, of La Verkin, UT passed away peacefully on September 2, 2024,surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Cathy was born in Portsmouth, OH on March 28, 1950, to Phillip Earl and Alice Rose Dora Mattingly. She spent most of her young adult life raised in West Virginia. After graduating from Charleston High School, she went on to attend BYU where she studied fashion design. However, she was always more interested in medicine, so she worked at Wasatch Medical Clinic in Heber City, UT for over 30 years. Eventually she went back to school and became a radiologic technician and retired in 2014.

Cathy eventually married the schoolboy that she grew up with, Alan Keith Haught, in 1970 in Provo, UT. They went on to have five children. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, and friend. She often held three jobs at once and will always be remembered for her incredible work ethic. She loved to cook and is well known for her skills in the kitchen. She especially loved making exotic and beautiful birthday cakes for her grandchildren. She always showed her love with food. 

Cathy was well known and cherished in her community. She was an example to others in academics, kindness, service and love. She will truly be missed and never, ever, be forgotten. 

We know that we can no longer have you here with us, but we’re filled with joy knowing that you have returned to your heavenly father. 

Cathy is survived by her husband Alan Keith Haught and her five beautiful children: Matthew Devin Haught, Mindee Beth Haught, Nickolas Steven Haught, Lindsay Rebecca Haught (Heaton) and Katie Joanna Haught. 

She is preceded in death by her mother, Alice Rose, her father Phillip Earl and her sister Carolin Mattingly. 

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date when all of her family can be together. Interment will take place at her family cemetery in Francis, UT
